The species is found in lowland primary and secondary forests along or near muddy streams.

The tadpoles are similar to those of ibanorum and leporinus. At this point we cannot present images of genetically matched tadpoles.

Limnonectes ingeri is a large ground-dwelling frog. Females and males can grow up to 130 mm in length. 

There is no dark stripe between eye and nostril (present in leporinus) and the snout profile is smooth in that region. Low tubercles may be present on the upper eyelid (longer in malesianus). Eardrum not as black as in malesianus.
