serasanae
Serasan Dwarf Litter Frog
The species has been known from lowland rainforest of central Sarawak and Pulau Serasan, South Bunguran Islands (Lesser Natuna), Indonesia. However, we consider the record for central Sarawak as higly unlikely and possibly a misidentification. More likely, the species is endemic to Pulau Serasan, Indonesia, where the type locality in the original description was.
It is very similar to other species in the subgenus Leptobrachella by miniature size (17 mm in females) and narrow pointed finger and toe tips, but is distinguished from all other species by a lateral dark stripe. In L. serasanae the rounded flank glands are scattered and do not form a ventro-lateral series as in some other species. The tadpoles are unknown.
