Leptobrachium:
ingeri
Inger's Black-eyed Litter Frog
Leptobrachium ingeri was formerly known as L. nigrops. The latter has been split up into L. ingeri and L. kanowitense. The type locality for L. ingeri is Matang Wildlife Centre, Kuching Division, Sarawak, Borneo. L. ingeri is a species of lowland rainforests in coastal areas of Sarawak.
This is a relatively small species of Leptobrachium. Adult females have a snout-vent length (SVL) of 39–47 mm, while males range from 29–37 mm. The fingertips are sharply pointed, and the toe webbing is relatively well developed. The inner metatarsal tubercle (a small bump on the inside of the foot) is large. The back (dorsum) is brown with distinct dark brown markings. The eardrum area (tympanum) is typically at least one-third covered by a blackish patch. Along the sides of the body, there are scattered black spots extending from the armpits (axillae) to the groin. The underside of the belly and limbs is heavily blotched, and the upper sides of the limbs—including the fingers and toes—are clearly barred. There are also large dark blotches at the groin that continue onto the underside and back of the thighs. A prominent femoral gland is visible as a large white patch. The call is a series of 5-10 notes.
