Ansonia albomaculata is a lowland stream toad. 

The dark brown or reddish brown skin on the dorsum is warty, but the warts are low. A light spot is on the upper jaw below the eye (also present in some other Ansonia species). Usually there is a thin dark X-shaped marking on the dorsum at the level of shoulders. A light band runs from the eye to towards the armpit. This species has a sharp tarsal ridge, present otherwise only in A. minuta. A photo and some further information can be found in  Inger et al (2017)

Adult males are 20–28 mm in snout-vent length, females are up to 35 mm.

We have not documented tadpoles of Ansonia albomaculata tadpoles yet. Inger et al. (2017) mention that tadpoles of this species are small (<15 mm) and exhibit light cross markings on the head and body. DNA verification of tadpoles is still lacking.
