Polypedates macrotis

Polypedates macrotis is a lowland species of primary and good secondary forests. Size of adults: up to 60 mm in males, 85 mm snout-vent length in females. 

The coloration is mid brown with two dark bands (in most individuals) running down the dorsum. It is similar to Polypedates leucomystax, but differs slightly in coloration and proportions; e.g., the eyes appear larger and more forward directed and fingers longer in macrotis.

Eggs are deposited in foam nests. Nests are attached to leaves or twigs overhanging standing water. Tadpoles brown above; the belly is withish, but gular region pigmented. Eyes are lateral. A orbitonasal streak is clearly visible.

Tadpoles grow up to 60 mm total length. The tail fin is narrowly pointed, forming a flagellum. 

P. macrotis breed in stagnant (or very slow moving) waters, such as ponds and ditches.
