Ansonia torrentis

Torrent Slender Toad

torrentis

Ansonia torrentis is a montane species that has been described from Gunung Mulu by Dring (1983) from 1800 m asl.

It is a moderate-sized species; males measure 30–33 mm in snout-vent length. The sympatric Ansonia hanitschi is smaller (males <29 mm) and has a narrower head.

Males call on leaves of low plants on steep rock-faces edging a stream in pristine montane forest.
