Murud Dwarf Toad
Pelophryne murudensis is exclusively known from Gunung Murud, from where it has been described recently (Das 2008). Due to its limited range, it could be threatened
Adult males measure approx. 2.5 cm snout-vent length. The digits are swollen but not dilated. Finger I is without a free phalange; webbing on Toe V goes to tip. Subarticular tubercles are distinct.
Only males of this species are known, all collected from montane forests, from edges of forest trails. They were found calling from leaves, 5 cm to 3 m above substrate at night. Call is a continuous trill.
The larval stages of this Pelophryne remain unknown.
